Tom and I are eagerly anticipating what God is about to do as we gather Saturday and Sunday, June 19-20, with the home church of our dear friend, Patricia Vallejos, and 50 or so other churches in the area near Concordia, Argentina! This will be the focus of our sharing:
 

1.       TOM: God’s heart and plan for the world: the end vision is the Kingdom, the Church is the means to the end. God’s heart for every tongue, tribe and nation to worship around His Throne, and the urgency of the task.

3.       LIZ: Prayer—Ezekiel 33—watchman on the wall, searched for a man among them to stand in the gap, prayer changes things (12 ways), multiplied power of partnership in prayer.
 

4.       TOM: Abundance of prayer is the foundation for church planting movements: what is a cpm, characteristics of cpm, examples (testimonies) of cpm, what helps/what hinders.
 

5.       LIZ: Strongholds which hinder, Following the cloud, listening to God and only doing what He shows us, flexibility, instant joyful obedience, Not “Who am I?” but “Who is HE?” Commitment Time
 

As we told you earlier, we had a powerful time this past weekend with 60 leaders from Argentina, and a handful from Paraguay and Uruguay! God showed up and did some deep things… and the leadership of this retreat ended up sending the words in summary to the leadership of a national pastors’ gathering this week where they were seeking God for the future of the Church of Argentina! Also, we were told us that those who attended understood clearly that this meeting marked a turning point for the Church of the nation, to move from praying for ourselves, for our missionaries to lifting our eyes to the white fields and praying for and reaching out to the unreached around the world! It was a God-thing that we happened to have this prayer retreat scheduled head on leading into the pastors’ meetings! Cool, huh?
 

Your prayers hold up our arms as we minister in Jesus’ Name! We also thank  you to those who send words of encouragement and scriptures to us by email and phone! Each of you are beloved to Tom and I!! We couldn’t do this without your love and friendship!!

Time is drawing near for Tom and Liz to head back to Pretoria at last! With only a few days left, there are bills to pay, expenses to post, bags to repack, laundry & ironing, one last prayer event focusing on the Toposa people of Sudan this Saturday and a charity golf tournament Monday. Tom seems to be pretty well fully recovered, praise the Lord! We’ve been working to walk about ½ to 1 hour twice a day to build ourselves back up; it hasn’t always happened but I can tell a difference physically!

Praise the Lord with us looking back:

·         Tom completed the cpm training in Vladivostok with Mitsuo Fukuda

·         Liz, Tom and Honour met with the MUP Intl. Leadership Council; first meeting for us with the MUP leadership in Istanbul

·         Liz made it to most of the Interdev Partnership Associates summit in Costa Rica before coming back to be with Tom in the hospital

·         Tom recovered!!

·         Jonathan (our youngest son) graduated and moved to his base at Camp Pendleton in CA with Sarah and new baby Katelyn; looks like he will be stateside until at least Jan 2010

·         Jennylynn (our daughter-in-law), Honour (youngest daughter) and Liz represented Ethne movement at the Mission-Net in Germany; gained a whole new group of “adopted” kids! Set up Ethne Europe follow on meetings in August in Berlin

·         Moved out of the three storages in West Virginia; got Blessing (our daughter) her furniture to Tulsa and reduced our storage to one small unit

·         Met with Ethne steering committee and small group of prayer strategy workgroup partners in Florida preparing for Nov. global gathering

·         Honour completed her IOWA achievement testing and an SAT test (college entrance exam) and is set in Kennett Square, PA with her eldest brother, wife and family doing community college courses this summer

·         Participated in MUP task force group meetings as co-facilitator for prayer and communications task force group; working on 10-year plans now

·         Participated in first MUP strategy team training in Dallas, sharing about the role of prayer as strategy and case studies

·         Reconnected with most of our supporting churches and many individual supporters as we have traveled

You can see it’s already been a full year and more to come! Your prayers are as vital to us as ever! Satan roams about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour! Boy, isn’t that true! He’s working overtime to try to kill, steal, and destroy! To bring division, disunity, confusion, weakness, sickness and death! Praise God that our Advocate ever lives to make intercession for us! Jesus calls us also to that privileged place of prayer, that we might find mercy and grace to help in time of need! Your partnership in prayer makes a HUGE difference!

We have a very special request:

Several times in our ministry lives we’ve had the enemy “come in like a flood” and bring such confusion and disunity through deception, lies, misunderstandings, that we’ve lost key relationships with prayer and financial supporters and co-workers, even family! He’s at work again to try to severe  relationships at several levels! This seems like one of the most common means he uses—to cause offense, leading to bitterness and unforgiveness, leading to broken relationships. It was once said, “a house divided against itself cannot stand” and satan is well aware of that. More than anything right now, please be praying that no ground can be given to the enemy in the area of offenses to cause broken relationships on any level, not in marriages, not in families, not in prayer partner or financial supporters, not with supporting churches or co-workers, and not among partnerships! Pray that we will all walk in such a spirit of humility and servanthood, considering others better than ourselves, submitting to one another in love, and forgiving seventy times seven in a day if need be! Ask that we walk wisely as serpents but harmless as doves and that we walk worthy of His call!

Related to this, if you haven’t ever read John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, it’s a must-read! He deals with how to handle offense, including not only how to forgive and why we must forgive, but how to heal from the pain of the offense! It’s the best I’ve ever heard or read on the subject!

Often, this type of spiritual attack against ministry leaders comes from a satanic trinity of spirits which cooperate: spirit of python, spirit of Jezebel, and spirits of seduction. One seeks to squeeze the life out of the believers, squeeze of relationships and resources, one tries to control and manipulate, and the other tries to seduce and lead astray with deception. Remember to walk clad in the full armor of God as you pray! And, know that today, Tom and I have prayed specifically for YOU, that you may also walk worthy of His call in YOUR lives, that YOU may experience the fullness of His presence, provision, peace and protection! CHURCH PLANTER TRAINING IN VLADIVOSTOK COMPLETED

Tom has finished the week of church planter training in Vladivostok with great joy! The Holy Spirit was moving in great power; many were healed of diseases and physical problems. Tom had the joy of teaching with another new friend from Japan who is a leader of a house church movement there. God has raised up several new training centers from House of Life—one now in Vladivostok, in Irkutsk, in Moscow, and a new one to open in Khabarovsk. Their primary ministry begins through drug and alcohol rehab centers and those who are receiving Christ often are the ones who become the church planter missionary trainees. Our friends Rika and Luda, who served with us as translators in the early years of our involvement with House of Life, are now missionaries in Delhi, India, and Lhasa, Tibet. Rika was able to plant 4-5 new churches in the Republic of Tuva (a Buddhist republic in Russia) before God moved her to Tibet. Pray for all those who received training to be fruitful as they go out depending on Him for their supply.

MUP INTL. LEADERSHIP COUNCIL MEETINGS TURKEY

Pray for Tom’s travels back to meet us (Liz and Honour) traveling up from Johannesburg to Turkey for leadership team meetings with the Intl. Leadership Council for a new ministry we have joined, Mission to Unreached Peoples. Tom is serving as minister-at-large, and I am serving as global prayer strategist. These meetings are critical to the forward movement of raising up, training and sending pioneer strategy teams among the remaining least-reached peoples globally. Pray that God guides and reveals key ways to do this in answer to His call.

INTERDEV PARTNERSHIP ASSOCIATES SUMMIT

Liz will be attending the Interdev Partnership Associates Summit as a new member. This reflects our role in building and operating partnerships focused on unreached people groups around the world. This is an association of partnership facilitators and as such helps us grow and become more proficient at facilitating these networks. Pray God will use Liz to bless this group and that Liz can learn and improve her abilities in this area. We are involved in about 11 different partnerships at present.

TRAVELING MERCIES NEEDED FOR 3 MONTHS ON THE ROAD!

Tom, Honour and I will be traveling for 3 months straight—so I think we also need much of God’s traveling mercies along the way! We have several key events coming: Mission-Net, a European youth congress expecting 6,000 young people in Germany April 8-13. We will be representing the Ethne movement there as well as leading family groups, praying with those who respond to altar calls, and mobilizing a stronger Ethne team in Europe. Pray for God’s grace anointing and strength for this demanding week and for divine favor and connections!

GOD’S FINANCIAL SUPPLY

Last of all, in these challenging economic times, pray for God to continue pouring out ample provision for all the demands of the ministry! We live on “invisible means of support”—if God doesn’t provide it, we can’t do it. We trust He will continue supplying “seed for sowing and bread for eating” and pray He is doing likewise with you and your families!

Thank you for continuing to pray for us! Your partnership in prayer is so vital! We ask God to continually be blessing, strengthening and encouraging you as you stand before His Throne!!
